Meet the Breeder - Hildenley Flock

Hildenley is a fourth generation family farm run by Nick and Emma Barran. Situated in the Howardian Hills near Malton it offers sheltered grazing and mature grasslands ideal for rearing stock. Since 2002 they have qualified for organic status and the farm enterprise is based on sheep, cattle and pigs.

Bought up on a sheep/cattle farm in Mid-Wales Emma reintroduced sheep to Hildenley in 1990 and not long after the pedigree Border Leicester flock was started. The Shearling rams are sold privately or at Welshpool Ram Sale held every year towards the end of September. Occasionally we do have shearling ewes for sale.

Lamb and beef, both Hereford and continental cross breeds, are sold wholesale and through a box scheme and the local farmers markets.
